“Not one bit, not at all,’’ Wayne
stated. “The guys were excited. They believe
in Caldwell’s decision making. He’s done a
fine job of keeping us current. Why go against it now,
go against anything this organization is doing? This
football team was able to just stick with it, believe
in one another, and we got the job done.’’

3 years ago, the Colts football team brought
the first Super Bowl championship game to Indianapolis
with Tony Dungy. Caldwell has been promoted this
season to replace Tony Dungy, and he acknowledged
this week that filling that position is a challenge,
considering how much he respects and admires Tony
Dungy.

Caldwell added he can be himself.

Caldwell said. The other thing, just in terms of
Tony Dungy’s impact around here and following
his ways, is that I didn’t have to do it by
myself. Our assistant coaches have done a excellent
job, our franchise is in it's place and in firm,
solid ground because of Jim Irsay and Bill Polian
and the rest of the folks in personnel, and we have
a great staff and football players. |
